SO much great stuff in this article Julie! Thank you for speaking out even though you said you were terrified. I stay away from posting about politics AND religion but not because it’s scary (thought it definitely is) so much as that it feels like a lose-lose situation. The people you hope will read and listen seem to be impossible to reach and meanwhile you get a lot of hate from all the sides because everyone is so easily offended.
Thank you for your insights and encouragement. I’ve not delved into the Jonah story at all before. Great info!
May God continue to bless you on this journey ❤️ 🙏
I really like your points. Jesus died and offers salvation to even the most wicked among us, even when we don't believe they should receive it. I'm so glad He offers mercy!
I was hitting on the fact that these 'pagans' had so much respect and reverence for the life of a stranger that even after Jonah told them he was the problem, they still tried to protect him. Who's to say that part of Jonah's story wasn't to reach these men who, after seeing the storm stop, "... feared the Lord exceedingly, and they offered a sacrifice to the Lord and made vows."
Keep speaking! God is ministering to your audience, some of whom may have never thought about these things or known about Jesus' absolute and total love and forgiveness for everyone. ❤️❤️❤️
